Sorry I'm very late in posting this! I've been really busy, and tired (taking care of 5 kids age 6 months to 3.5 years, and being 31 weeks pregnant will do that to ya!) lol! Anyways, I signed up for Herbology...i got linen yarn, and a pattern for a bag to use with it, some stitch markers that I wanted, a re-useable shopping bag, and some Bertie Bott's every flavor beans...there may have been something else, but I have no brain and can't remember! lol! The jelly beans are long gone thanks to my kids, and the bag is in use, but here's a pic of the yarn, pattern, and stitch markers...

Blah! no surprise that I'm behind right now! In my muggle life we had our local carnival this weekend, and between that and caring for a new muggle infant in my daycare, i've just been overwhelmingly busy! Hopefully Seffy will be taking flight very soon!

Just an observation, but I just find it amazing the fascination that muggle, and magical children alike have with Trains. There's something magical and fascinating about how different they are, how they operate, and the places that they'll take you! So do to this fascination, needless to say, we had a wonderful time today, and the kids really enjoyed seeing Thomas, riding the train, and just seeing things through childrens eyes.

The weather!

I am loving being at camp so much! The weather is so much nicer than back home where I live in the muggle world! I have been keeping really busy with knitting and crocheting projects, and of course, trying to find those pesky eggs! I haven't had any luck though! I searched for almost 2 hours to no avail! Luckily many of my Ashwinder cabin mates have had much better luck than I have, so we are still doing fairly well! Well, sorry for the quick update from me this week, but I have more knitting to do, and i need to tidy up my cabin area!

My Boggart takes on the form of a scary, hairy, giant spider. The very thought makes my skin crawl, and gives me goosebumps. I actually think they're neat to watch from afar, but the thought of them on my skin, or cobwebs on my skin for that matter just creeps me out. So, as this boggart creeps closer in the form of a spider, I conjure up some courage, wand at the ready, clearly say "Riddikulus!" and with a flick of my wand my spider turns into, Oswald...the friendly, funny Octopus from Nickelodeon! lol!

In the second volume of the HP books by JK Rowling, The (#1)Chrome Cab Festers, we continue to learn the incredible adventures of Hogwarts student (#2) Parry He Trot and his friends (#3) Oral Weensy and (#4) Angering Her More. Belonging to the house of (#5) Dry Off Grin, they attend Defense Against the (#6) Ark Darts taught by Wizarding celebrity (#7) Oracle Dorky Light, a none-too-bright fellow who cannot even handle pixies!
In The (#8) Chrome Cab Festers, we also meet Dobby a (#9)See Flu Oh for the first time. Determined Dobby seeks to sabotage the return of (#10) Parry He Trot to Hogwarts and is pretty persistent but is unsuccessful. After a few weeks at school, the deceased Ravenclaw student who haunts the girls lavatory, also known as (#11) My Molten Grain, shows (#12) Parry He Trot and (#13) Oral Weensy an old empty diary that dropped through her ghostly form out of thin air!
Many nifty things continue to happen for the next several months… we won’t go into all the juicy details right now… however, the ending is prime reading indeed!! (#14) Parry He Trot finally kills Tom Riddle’s (a.k.a #15 Mold Voter) sneaky diary (which we now know is a #16 Crux Rho) and saves the sister of (#17) Oral Weensy, (#18) Gayly Nine Sew!!!
Oh! Of course, we must mention that the thickheaded (#19) Oracle Dorky Light unintentionally erased his own memory, so he won’t be back for book three, The (#20) Snob In A Froze Parka…

Getting ready for camp

I'm really excited to be going to camp...only problem is, i can't pack, or get dressed because someone has put some sort of Protego Totalum charm on my room, and I can't get in to get my things! It is quite bothersome, but I suppose that I will just have to head to camp with the shirt on my back, rely on magic, and make the best of it! :D At least there'll be swimming and campfires, right?

I'm so excited! I've had such a busy week, but I got one of the best ideas...we are going to be starting a magically dance company! Not only will we be dancing, we will be using magic, and brooms to coordinate, and synchronize our movements, and to just add another whole dimension to dance! It should be really great. I was fortunate enough to travel to Hogsmeade this weekend and oh did I have a wonderful time! I bought my first owl, and I learned some very interesting things along the way! More about my owl later. ;P

The thing that I probably found most interesting that I learned this weekend was about Honeydukes Sweet Shop...one of my favorite places to visit! :D As I'm sure it is many Hogwarts student's favorite place! What I learned is that there is a secret passage from Hogwarts to the sweet shop, the one that Harry used to sneak to Hogsmeade, and that it is unknown to Filch! They think that these passageways were possibly created during the Goblin rebellion of 1612, but 2 of them were created for specific purposes...the first for Remus Lupin when he game to Hogwarts goes from a hole by the whomping willow, to the shrieking shack, so that Lupin would have a safe place away from students to transform (which is why the shack was shrieking!) The second was created in 1998 when DA was practicing in the Room of Requirement and needed a place to get food...so a passageway opened up to the Hogs Head, behind the portrait of Ariana in the second floor of the Inn. Some of the others were used in the battle of Hogwarts to help defeat Voldemort, and others were probably used in other historial magical events, but it is unknown. What that means to me is that not only is there at least one passageway in Hogwarts that leads to Hogmeade, but there could be many more just waiting to be discovered! Or...created...

Favorites at Hogwarts so far...

So I am LOVING transfiguration. It's easily my favorite class. However, I really like Herbology as well, I just think it's so interesting! I can't wait to go to Hogsmeade this weekend! It should be sooo fun! I have to say too, those Ravenclaw girls are just the sweetest! Bevin Rae and I have so much in common, and she is just so sweet! I'm so glad I met her! And Cassie (Goode) she is just the sweetest too, and one of my favorite first years! I love how eager she is to learn! This is shaping up to be my best term at Hogwarts so far!

"Muggle Studies"

More homework, but this is the type of homework I actually enjoy...a sort of word, transfiguration if you will! We have been instructed to create as many muggle words as possible out of the words "Muggle Studies" and then give a definition of such words...words that are particularly helpful are words that help magical folk to better understand the muggle world.

MUGGLE STUDIES

1. Mugs: My favorite kind are stonware, but can be made of anything from plastic to ceramic. Used to drink beverages out of. The main part is sort of bowl, or "cup" shaped and then there is an elongated "u" shaped handle attached to the side.
2. Gust: This is what Merriam-Websters said 1.obsolete a: the sensation of taste b: inclination , liking
2: keen delight

However, I thought of it more of a form of speech along the lines of a "gust" of wind. Meaning, a larger amount that moved quickly through.
3. Gums: Part of the mouth that houses the teeth.
4. Ties: Things you use to close, restrain, or contain other things. i.e. hair ties, garbage bag ties etc.
5. Stud: has several meanings...1. a the wooden pole to which drywall is attached...i.e. the "framework" of a room. 2. a small earring that consists of a post that goes through the ear and something small adorning the front 3. and probably my favorite! ;P Slang term for an attractive male, i.e. That hunka hunkaliscious boytoy is a real STUD! 4. a small metal or jewel adornment for clothing or accessories.
6. Studs: plural of Stud, see above def. Ooh, lot's of hunky guys! LOL!
7. Gels: has a few meanings as well... 1. slang for everything going smoothly, and/or meshing well together. 2. Plural form of Gel, a gooey substance, some forms are edible, others are used for hairstyling.
8. Gems: Can be natural or artificial. Sparkly and beautiful stones, are used in everything from muggle jewelry to cell phone decorations, to cloting and accessory decorations.
9. Tide: 1. the rising and falling of the surface of a body of water 2. a muggle brand of laundry detergent (substance used to get clothing clean) that works rather well, but is rather expensive.
10. Tides: plural of tide, see above definition.
11. Digs: 1. to break up and put a whole in something, usually the earth/soil/dirt. 2. muggle slang for clothing 3. muggle slang meaning interested i.e. "He really digs you!"
12. Side: 1. one portion of a whole, if an item is split down the center, there would be two "sides". 2. to agree with one party over another...i.e. taking "sides".

14. Duties: 1. synonym for responsibilities 2. the things that one is required to fulfill.

16. Guts: 1. The inards of any living creature, can also refer to complicated insides of inanimate objects, such as the "guts" of a computer.

Acrylic— (a) has its uses, (b) should all be burned, (c) best yarn to work with? (choose an answer) (a) has it's uses...it's not always my favorite, and I prefer natural fibers, but some of it is really soft, and machine washability and affordability are a plus...and no I don't sell it even though it may sound like it!

What are your three most favorite scents? for candles...cinamonroll, pumpkin spice, and cranberry manderin...for something smelly for me...coconut lime verbena, fruity scents, and vanilla jasmine.

Do you really need more stitch markers? Not really, but I don't have a lot of pretty ones (just two sets) so if they are really pretty, I could always use more!
DPNs, circular, or straight? Mostly DPN's and Circulars, but straights have their place, I just don't use them for many projects.
Favorite yarn? Dream yarn? Hmm, I can't really say that I have a favorite...probably Schachenmayr nomotta Micro Bamboo Spray, or anything Alpaca or alpaca blend. Oooh, I really like Mosaic Moon and Dashing Dach's too! Dream Yarn: Plumknit Yarn Supply 6 or 8 ply cashmere, Dashing Dach's Goldfish, or Mosaic Moon's Woodland Tale, Rose Garden, or Dragon's Lair (or about 50 other colorways! LOL!) on Cestari.
Favorite HP Movie? I'd have to say PoA or OotP. I really like them all though! I own all of them and have watched them all several times!
Favorite HP character? Another Toughy...I really love Harry, but Hermione, Oliver Wood (teehee) Hagrid, Molly Weasley, and Dumbledore are all way up there!
What is your favorite pattern? Again, not really sure, right now I'd LOVE to knit the Rogue sweater sans kangaroo pocket on the front...I LOVE those cables! I also love Saartje's booties!

Well, I am so super excited to be back at Hogwarts this term!
